INFO:
The Snowman Candle Holder is print in place, no supports needed! We made the bottom and inside part hollow, so you can fit another led tealight, or any kinds of small lightbulbs, it works really well with translucent filament, gives a nice “frosty” look!:)
We provided a single and multicolor 3mf version too!
Print difficulty level: Beginner
“STEAL THEIR LOOK!” instructions:
Version1: Handpainted
Filament: Polymaker PLA Matte White
LED tealight: 36.6mm 12 piece Tealight Bambu
Filler Primer: Rust-Oleum Filler and Sandable Primer Spray
Sandpaper: 3m Pro Grade Grit: 120, 3m Pro Grade Grit:220, 3M Wet or dry Sandpaper Grit: 600
and/or Bates- Sandpaper, 18 Pack, 12 Grits, 120 to 3000
Primer: Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Spray Paint White
Paint: Fantastory Craft Acrylic Paint Set (Use white, grey, black, orange, and you can add a little bit of blue too)
Clear coat finish: Rust-Oleum Matte Clear Coat or if you want glossy look Rust-Oleum Clear Gloss
-
Post-processing steps (if you don’t mind the layer lines being too dominant, you can skip the sanding part, and jump right to the primer coat and painting)
-
Sanding: Start with coarse sandpaper (120 grit) to smooth layer lines, then use finer grits (220) and lastly (400-600) for a more polished surface.
-
Filler Primer: Apply a filler primer coat to cover imperfections. Let it dry completely.
-
Wet Sanding: Use 400-600 grit sandpaper for wet sanding the primer, repeating as needed for smoothness.
-
Final Primer Coat: Apply a thin layer of regular primer to create an even base for painting.
-
Painting: Paint with your chosen color from the acrylic paint set (white, grey, orange, black, also you can mix the grey with a little bit of blue)
-
Finish: Seal with Rust-Oleum Matte Clear Coat for a subtle finish or Clear Gloss for a shiny effect.
-
(Allow each layer to dry fully before moving to the next for the best results.)

Version2: Translucient PLA
Filament: ZIRO Translucent PLA Filament
LED tealight: 36.6mm 12x Tealight Bambu
Steps:
-
Print with gradient translucent filament: you can try different gradient shift techniques, if you print even more snowmen all at once, the gradient shift is more dominant, if you print less, the gradient shift is bigger & more subtle.
-
Place the tealights and enjoy your result!

Version3: Dual Silk PLA
Filament: Bambu Silk Dual Color
Steps:
Print with Bambu Dual Silk:
-
Heat: Dual Silk PLA may require a slightly higher temperature (usually 200-220°C), so check the filament specs.
-
Cooling: Ensure good cooling, as silk filaments tend to retain heat longer, which can affect overhangs.
-
Speed: Print at a slower speed to avoid layer separation and ensure a smooth finish.
-
Adhesion: Some silk PLA brands might need a stronger bed adhesion method, like a glue stick or PEI bed.
===========================
Recommended print settings:
(If you use Bambu or Orca slicer, all the print settings are automatically loaded in each version’s 3mf files)
–Layer height: 0.2mm, if you want less thicker layer lines you can set it to 0.16mm (Or even lower, or turn on Adaptive Layer Height if you want very minimal visible layer lines, but it will increase your printing time)
–Wall loops: 2 (if you want it stronger you can set it to 3)
–Infill: 10%, Gyroid
–Supports: No supports needed
–Brim: to turn on an outer-inner 5mm width brim (with a brim-object gap of 0.12mm) is recommended for better bed adhesion.
