This little creature is a literal sea-horse, with 4 articulated legs!
It’s the first release from our new collection “Mytho-critters”, we will release 1-2 new unique creatures every month, inspired and loosely based on mythological animals and creatures from folk tales:)

Versions provided: static and articulated version in stl, and 3mf formats with print settings (for Bambu and Orca slicer), 12mm craft eye versions, multicolor with 3 colors, and a 3mf batch version of 17 articulated Seahorse.

—————————-

Print difficulty level: Beginner
Print size: Small, (60-70mm)
Printing time: 1h20m

Recommended print settings: (If you use Bambu or Orca slicer, all the print settings are automatically loaded in each version’s 3mf files)

-Layer height: 0.16mm

-Wall loops: 3

-Infill: 10%, Gyroid

-Supports: No supports needed for the articulated version.
For the static version: auto tree supports, TopZ distance 0.25mm, BottomZ distance 0.16mm, the slicer will add some supports under the belly part, like on the picture below:

——————————-
For the multicolor articulated version we have set up a 3mf file where you can print the seahorses in a bigger batch in a most cost-efficient way. For example:

If you print one in multicolor it will be done in about 12 hours, 187g filament, around $3.75 in costs.

If you print 17 in multicolor it will be done in about 1 day 10h, 553g filament, around $11 in costs.

So basically with the batch version it will take 3 times longer and cost 3 times more, but you’ll end up with 17 times as many seahorses than if you only print one:)

STEAL THEIR LOOK!” instructions:

For the craft eyes:
JulieWang 12mm Dragon Eyes

Painting & Post-processing steps:

Step1: Priming: Base Coat

  • Apply Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Spray Paint White as a base primer. Let it dry completely.

  • Painting: Paint with your chosen color from the acrylic paint set or if you have airbrush set, you can paint with that too, definitely much faster and you can paint some nice gradients with it:)

  • Sealing: Seal with Rust-Oleum Matte Clear Coat for a subtle finish or Clear Gloss for a shiny effect.

  • Adding craft eyes: use a small drop of superglue and insert the eyes you prefer into the sockets.
